When her girlfriend Casey Novak got offered a job as the DA in Salem, Massachusetts, Olivia packed up her things and left her home in NYC to follow her.

What a disaster that turned out to be. Casey was never home, and Olivia's hectic work schedule at the Salem PD didn't help matters. Then, when Olivia started making regular visits to Cavanaugh's Bar, the shit really hit the fan.

Casey thought she was drinking, but she wasn't. Instead, she was there to see the bar's owner, Jordan Cavanaugh.

By the time Casey found out, Jordan had skipped town for reasons Olivia never quite knew, but the damage had already been done. Casey asked Olivia to leave, so she did.

Olivia went back to New York City for a while, but decided she couldn't stay there, with everything she heard and saw reminding her of Casey. She didn't even go see Stabler, or any of her old colleagues, not wanting to have to sit through their questions.

Finally, she packed up her things once more and drove out of the city. She drove all night, and when the dawn broke. she found herself on the highway in the middle of nowhere. Taking the next exit she saw, she drove until she found the village of Haurvatat, and decided to stop there for a rest.

Now she's stuck there.
